Jonny B & The Blues Blazers
is a high energy harmonica driven blues band with a “twist. Notably, they are
recipients of a Council for the Arts & Humanities
performance Award for 2002.
Their unique blend of high-energy harmonica driven blues music promises
to be a crowd pleaser wherever they perform.
JONNY B & The BLUES BLAZERS - was formed in late 1996 out of the
bands mutual love for the blues music
and performed for their first concert the fall of 1997.
We felt that there was a void and a need for fast paced, hard driving, high energy
harmonica based pop/blues music in the NYC Tri-State area and thus, a band was born!
The bands repertoire spans over 40 years, and includes a combination of cover and
original material.

The band has performed in, and headlined, numerous venues, concert series & festivals
throughout the Tri-State area.  They were one of only two bands selected to perform in the
NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs sponsored event, CultureFest 2002 held in Bryant Park, and
2003 & 2005, held in Battery Park, NY that was attended by thousands.

They have also opened for varied performers including C.J. Chenier & The Red Hot
Louisiana Band, the “Crown Prince of Zydeco,” folk legend Pete Seeger & The Spyro Gyro
All Star Band.   Additionally, the band has received a performing arts award from the Staten
Island Council for the Arts & Humanities.

The band has been honored to be selected regional semi-finalists & regional finalists for 4
nonconsecutive years by the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation, for the 2006 & 2007,
2009 & 2010 International Blues Challenge finishing in second pace respectively.

Since the bands inception, Jonny B & The Blues Blazers has been picking up momentum,
enjoying local name recognition and a growing fan following.   They have built a reputation
as hard working, dedicated musicians who perform with an intensity that audiences
appreciate.  The band promises to be a crowd pleaser wherever they perform.  In fact,
dancing during one of their performances is a clear indication that everyone, including the
band, is having a good time!
